Nicola Wood’s mission is to provide the best hair-loss service in the UK. She is an incredibly passionate speaker and has an inspiring story.
At 21, Nicola opened her own salon. At 36, she was diagnosed with Invasive Breast Cancer.
During her treatment, Nicola travelled the breadth of the UK to see what hair loss services were available. Realising how much the service could be improved, Nicola decided to train in Germany to learn about the most innovative hair loss services.
Passionate about helping people with hair loss, Nicola secured funding to expand her existing salon to create an environment where everyone felt included.
In 2016 she created The Wonderful Wig Company to service her existing clients. Realising that there were a lot of people referred by the NHS who couldn’t afford the service, she set out to become an NHS supplier.
Now, The Wonderful Wig Company is working with hospitals and trusts across the North East to help patients restore their crowning glory, their confidence and their sense of self again.
